With a positive connotation, pride refers to a humble and content sense of attachment toward one's own or another's choices and actions, or toward a whole group of people, and is a product of praise, independent self-reflection, and a fulfilled feeling of belonging.
Pride in ones work may have different meanings to different people. You make take pride in showing up on time and consistently. You work late, you support the ‘cause’, you work well with others and your humour seems to cheer the place up. Not leaving things left undone or even committing to a project and seeing it through even though you would rather not.....yes, something to be proud of. But taking pride in your work may also mean ‘mastering your craft’. If you like working with people, then you might work towards mastering the craft of understanding what people really need from you. If you like working with numbers, then you might want to master the craft of Accounting or Science. Becoming a master at one’s craft takes patience, persistence, time and a willingness to learn from what works and what does not. By being accountable to your own learning process, you are opening to door to learning something you did not know before. Settling for your current best, does not mean it’s your best yet. It is determination to make what is already excellent, to a whole new level. That is pride in one’s work! This is the authentic journey of Eternal Timber and the talent behind the name.
